WORLD - STYLEWEEK (SWNE) was created with the vision of connecting buyers and press with emerging design talent. SEED: Innovation meets Education Student Competition features even earlier work.

STYLEWEEK works directly with universities and colleges to identify the most driven talent to partake in this competition. These students then come together for one show where they are judged by an industry panel of fashion and press professionals. Showcasing student work is a powerful tool for resourcing new ideas for the future of fashion in the Northeast. It provides students with their first experience of a professional trade runway show and prepares them for what’s to come and how to cultivate their brand in the industry.

The competition is biannual and is held during STYLEWEEK Northeast every February and September. Past participating institutions include; Rhode Island School of Design; Rhode Island College; Mass Art; LaSalle University; Roger Williams University; Johnson and Wales; University of Rhode Island, Fashion Institute of Design; School of Fashion Design Boston and high school students from Lincoln School in Rhode Island.
