Congratulations may be in order for Nicki Minaj and DJ Khaled after Khaled proposed today. His proposal, however, was so strange and out of the blue, all bets are off as to if Minaj will say yes or not. It wasn't exactly your typical romantic offering.

He did it when Minaj wasn't even present. Instead he was with MTV News when he launched into a profession of love for Minaj. Nicki Minaj, I'm at MTV. I love you. I like you. I want you. I want you to be mine. I'm here at MTV because it's a worldwide network. Only reason I'm not telling you this face to face is because I understand that you're busy. I'ma be honest with you, I wanna marry you.

I was kind of waiting for a punch line, but then he got really serious and whipped out a ring (10-karat radiant cut, with an estimated value of $500,000, according to MTV). He continued: Nicki Minaj, will you marry me? We got the same symptoms, we both suffer from success. You out their touring, you're out their hustling, you're out there making music and you're out their winning. And I understand. That's why I feel like you need a man like me in your life that's gonna take care of you and respect you. If you have to take your time and think about it, I overstand. But I know I have to be here today to let you know how serious I am and how serious this is to me. I want to let your fans know, my fans know, my family, your family, that I want to marry you.

Is he serious (both about the proposal and using the world "overstand")? He sure seems to be, even though there are no reports of them dating previously. Maybe it's a secret romance? Or maybe he's just busting out his love big time? Or maybe it's just some bizarre publicity stunt (my guess)? While there's been no response from Minaj yet, I can't wait to hear what she has to say about it. I doubt it will be yes.
