He listed these payments as principal. After the bankruptcy was complete, I was notified by Sallie Mae that I had to start paying again. I was surprised but after checking into it, I realize SM loans do not go away through bankruptcy. What I'm not ok with, is that Sallie Mae took all that money over the three years only towards the interest on the loans. The amount I owe is still the same three years later after they had been getting money from the trustee all that time. Is this correct or should they have taken the money of the principal amount of the loan? -
