David Taylor - Flying High

David Taylor - Flying High

The robin sat upon the gate br with sideways head much int'rested br as in the fallow fields below br the cows are grazing unmoving slow. br The sheep played and did not sleep br together they roamed to reap br the goodness from the grass br that greenly grows beneath their feet. br Clouds obscured a bright lit sky br as thoughts upon an open mind br slowly passed on by, br slowly passed on by. br Across the valley deep br the hills rose in a gentle sweep br reaching gently for the sky br they did not reach up high. br br Nature does not try, nature does not try br with ease it follows its own unfolding br as sages o'er the country roaming. br They do not try, they do not try. br The robin approached a little closer br he did not fly, he did not fly. br The cows they paused in grazing br and sheep they didn't ask br why eat grass, why eat grass? br Clouds they opened in the sky br and passed on by, passed on by. br And as like the hills across the valley br my soul reached out br and flew up high, flew up high.
