Sandra Martyres - The Invitation

Sandra Martyres - The Invitation

'Come into my parlour' br Said the banker to his customer br 'Help yourself to some organic green tea br We believe in staying healthy br And keeping our clients that way too br No extra sweetners for our loans br In case you borrow too much br No additional interest on your deposits br We do not like sharing too much our profits br We need to pump them back as capital br So that the regulators have time to chill' br br 'I truly appreciate your hospitality' br Said the customer to his banker br 'But I just don't seem to get it right br I thought that the Government br Had just bailed you guys out with br Pots of taxpayers money to help you br Lend us cheaper money, to increase demand br So as to set the Industry wheels back in motion br And drive the cruel spectre of recession away br You were supposed to usher in a new era of prosperity br But you seem to be doing just the contrary' br br 'Well, well well my dear revered client' br Said the banker to his customer br ' I can see you are just another poor victim br Who chooses to place implicit faith in the press br Those gentlemen love to identify a fall guy br And then pursue him with a sense of glee br Their axe has now fallen on the banking fraternity br While we may have earned fat salaries and bonuses br Remember the economy too thrived and br With it the nation's GDP, but this is really the past br You know as well as I do that happy times rarely last br So let's get down to the business you came to discuss'br br Sandra Martyresbr br
