Terence George Craddock (Spectral Images and Images Of Light) - Look Across Time*

'Beyond the east the sunrise br beyond the west the sea.... ' Gerald Gough br br So yonder my thoughts br do flee, my friend, br long after br to be chased by me. br All you see is a mask br a ghost from the past br it’s not me br I’ve changed girl. br You look across time br your memories are fine br but you won’t find me br from there girl. br br The incoming tide br washes our prints br from the shore. br You stare down br from this ledge above me. br The wind blowing, br the gleaming black strands br of your shoulder length hair. br Strands play br around the straps br of your long white dress, br blown sensuously against you. br br And you watch me br with those beautiful br solemn eyes. br You reach down br our hands do not touch br they never can. br Yet will always love you. br Your very being br fills me with rapture br and a deep longing. br br The vision of you br I behold, is a mist of spray br against the golden rays br washing over my senses. br My life of solitaire br is ending here. br I’ll be what I am br the man you have searched for, br with consoling care. br For I have waited br an eternity, for you here. br And of all women br I do confess of them all br I love thee best. br br br Copyright © Terence George Craddock br http: www.poemhunter.
