Isaac Watts - Psalm 37 part 3

Isaac Watts - Psalm 37 part 3

v.23-87 br C. M. br The way and end of the righteous and the wicked. br br My God, the steps of pious men br Are ordered by thy will; br Though they should fall, they rise again, br Thy hand supports them still. br br The Lord delights to see their ways, br Their virtue he approves; br He'll ne'er deprive them of his grace, br Nor leave the men he loves. br br The heav'nly heritage is theirs, br Their portion and their home; br He feeds them now, and makes them heirs br Of blessings long to come. br br Wait on the Lord, ye sons of men, br Nor fear when tyrants frown; br Ye shall confess their pride was vain, br When justice casts them down. br br PAUSE. br br The haughty sinner have I seen, br Nor fearing man nor God, br Like a tall bay-tree, fair and green, br Spreading his arms abroad. br br And lo! he vanished from the ground, br Destroyed by hands unseen; br Nor root, nor branch, nor leaf was found br Where all that pride had been. br br But mark the man of righteousness, br His several steps attend; br True pleasure runs through all his ways, br And peaceful is his end.
