David Harris - The First Day Of My Holiday

David Harris - The First Day Of My Holiday

Standing looking out at the valley below br with its small tidal bay. br The tall masts lie drunkenly on angles br as their boats are left stranded br after the tide retreated, br back to its roving wanderings. br The calls of the seagulls br bark in the evening air br as the sunset enriches br the surrounding hills in red and gold. br Little birds take their last flights br before dusk and roosting. br A serene scene to greet my eyes br in a laid-back day, br the first day of my holiday. br Away from the clamouring pace br of a life left behind for two weeks. br Just standing and watching for what joys br my life must prepare for br as the evening clouds begin to gather. br Waiting for the hour br when night decides to descend br and bring a quiet close br to the first day of my holiday.
