fasten your fedora to your head with a needle and thread br it'll hurt br but you'll be happy with how that makes things stay put. br br you're bobbing like bait br freshly cast from a gray dock br made from the kind of weathered wood br that is best remembered through watercolor. br the cattails lean in like microphones to a crooner, br and one grazes your cheek, br brushes it ever so softly, so slightly br and you think of br br the last time a person did it willingly br and without a prompting thought. br br you'd root down to the nuts and br bolts of it all if the bottom of the water br were met with something solid, br something other than br leafy muck br br but there there br there, there br there, there, there now! br br you got a dapper diving suit br and there's just enough oxygen left to keep br you turn-that-frown-upside-down-ing br through the window of that mask br at the fish too ugly for the ocean.
