I’ve toil’d all ov’r the earth, br br looking for the real equality; br br I find none but inequality. br br I have also labour’d for it to come to its fullest; br br lo, what I see is perpetual corruption! br br That makes me ask: br br ‘Is folly plac’d in all high places? ’ br But my humble self replies: br br ‘No, that must be a mistake.’ br br Now, I’m optimistic for man’s rights – br br I’m sure they will come in our generation.
