On the lake today I remembered br br You, what we had, what we were, what happened to us br I remembered somewhere out there in that big lake was the memory br The memory of me and you, playfully swimming in the water br Feel the air in our hair as we rode around  br The first time I every kissed you in that bathroom br The feeling of holding you in my arms br The pain of letting go that day br The pain of letting you go that one night br The pain of knowing you'd never be mine again br The scars that seared my arms you left br The tears I cried at night alone br br Like a wound opened up again after all these years br It is still tender and fresh br I still hurt so much br Do you hurt too? br br We go throughout life br Never looking back because we never want to see br Those mistakes we made br The hurt we caused someone br The things we did or said br br But, we made it. br Didn't we? We moved along.
