This bear, who I've decided to call Marcel, has come by 3-4 times before. He's very shy compared to the others and doesn't put up much of a fight when I ask him to leave. Like many others in and around Asheville he's wearing a tracking collar. He 'volunteered' to be part of the 'The North Carolina UrbanSuburban Bear Study', which aims to provide a deeper understanding of black bear ecology in urbansuburban environments that will benefit both the citizens of Asheville as well as the bears of North Carolina.
