Spotify Announces COVID-19
Music Relief Project The project will assist
artists who are seeking financial relief. Spotify will partner with several
music charities, including MusiCares,
PRS Foundation and Help Musicians. The streaming company will match donations
to those charities up to $10 million. Spotify made the announcement
via Instagram
on Tuesday. Spotify,
via Instagram Spotify also plans to debut an optional feature
enabling artists to raise funds directly from fans. The company will not take any cuts
from the contributions made through
the Spotify artist pages. Just a few days ago, Bandcamp helped artists raise
$4.3 million by waiving its fees for music sales.
