On May 14 1980, Valencia drew Arsenal 0-0 in the Cup Winners' Cup final that took place in Brussels. The Spanish side won 5-4 on penalties after their goalkeeper Carlos Pereira was the hero of the day. It was the first and only time Valencia won the Cup Winners' Cup title.
