Health Ministry says it is still using anti-malaria drug cautiously to treat Covid-19 patients

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the ministry will still cautiously administer the anti-malaria drug called hydroxychloroquine to treat Covid-19 patients at its hospitals.

The World Health Organisation has revealed that it had paused trials into using hydroxychloroquine to treat Covid-19, as the drug may cause side effects such as irregular heartbeats, headaches, blurred vision and muscle tenderness.
