Amit Bilgi is a Data Scientist located in San Francisco, CA.br br Despite his current position at Uber, Amit wasn’t always on the path of STEM-related activities. “I actually tended to stay away from the hard sciences when I was young.br br But things changed for Amit when he hit his early 20s, and once he dove deep to better understand the concepts, it put him on the path to his current work.br br Amit is passionate, not only about the hard sciences, but about developing "soft skills" in his team, as well. "Tech needs to focus more on interpersonal communication and we, as technical professionals, can grow in conveying our research and info in a palatable manner," says Amit.br br Amit Bilgi is a graduate of the University of Chicago with a Masters Degree in Computer Science. He received his Undergraduate Degree in Economics & Philosophy from Vanderbilt University.br br Currently, Amit Bilgi is a Data Scientist in Strategic Finance at Uber. Prior to that, he was the Finance Director for Nashville Mobile Market, a start-up venture aimed at creating mobile grocery stores targeted at low-income consumers.
