The Gauteng government claims to have doubled the hospital beds in the province, but says there's simply not enough staff to attend to the growing number of COVID-19 patients. The province has recorded over 340,000 cases, and over 6,000 COVID-19 related deaths. It has the second-highest number of active cases in the country.
