Brad Stevens sat down with media for his pregame interview before the Celtics took on the Charlotte Hornets. With Romeo Langford being listed as active, Coach Stevens cautioned that he will most likely not play, as Langford is still building up his conditioning to return after months of basketball lost between surgery and COVID-19. Coach was also asked again about Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum's leadership, and reiterated the sentiments he shared the other day about how great they've been at being leaders considering where they are in their careers. Concerning Jaylen Brown's knee injury from the other night, Stevens hadn't heard anyone telling him that Brown wouldn't play, and expects him to be a go for this evening's matchup. When asked about former Celtics Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier and Brad Wanamaker, Coach Stevens didn't hesitate to praise all of them. On Wanamaker, Stevens said “He’s tough. He’s smart. He’s solid. He’s a pro’s pro.”, and when it comes to both Wanamaker and Hayward, Stevens said that the team heading into the bubble last season was probably playing the best basketball he'd seen during his time in Boston. He emphasized Hayward's ankle sprain was a huge loss, and with it the loss of his decision-making and aid to his teammates.
