Brad Stevens was interviewed after the Celtics pulled off a bounceback win against the Charlotte Hornets 120-111. The Celtics came out early and set the tone, and the team was making a concerted effort to attack the paint often, leading to a 39 point first quarter for Boston.
Stevens first spoke about Aaron Nesmith’s breakout performance. “He’s played hard and he’s worked really hard at it,” said the coach. “I consider him to be more mature than his age with his work ethic and with his desire to be good… we’re happy for him to have his success.”
The coach was also asked about Evan Fournier, who once again struggled in this one. “He will not make this excuse, but he’s dealing with some of the after effects of it [COVID],” said Stevens. “He is frustrated by it for sure… all he wants to do is play and help us win.”
