50 civil society groups call for inquest into custodial deaths

A total of 50 civil rights and political organisations including Suara Rakyat Malaysia (SUARAM), Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (ABIM), Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM), MUDA, and the Universiti Malaya Students’ Union among others, handed over a memorandum to police on Friday outlining four main points to address the seven deaths in police custody that occurred over the past five weeks.
