Vikings Invasion – Vol. 1 (1975) (Switzerland, Hard/Blues Rock)

Vikings Invasion, from Basel, on the border with Germany, played blues rock with a heavy progressive edge. Charles Sterchi, Eric Eberhard and Gerhard Burri have been playing together in this simplest configuration since 1970, originally called “Dreieinkeitsmoses” or simply “Moses' Trinity” after one of Brecht's pieces. At the suggestion of the English record company Penthouse Records, which probably confused Switzerland with Sweden, the band changed their name to Vikings Invasion. The trio's only album with the optimistic title Vol. 1” (but “Vol. 2” and others never followed) was released in 1975 and only in England, where the musicians lived for some time and occasionally played concerts. The creature on the cover of the album was supposed to represent the heraldic coat of arms of their native Basel, however, his image was significantly distorted. Blues is clearly present on the album, but rather raw and even rough, sometimes turning into proto-punk.br br Tracks:br 01. The Mirror — 2:57br 02. The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock — 6:08br 03.
