Rockets built by university teams are lifting off from the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) launch site in Pingtung County in southern Taiwan this weekend. A group from Tamkang University sent one experimental vehicle to an altitude of more than 7 km before it stopped transmitting data. The series of launches is part of a TASA initiative to train new talent for Taiwan’s emerging space sector, which plans to start testing a domestically built satellite launch vehicle by 2028.
