We looked online for dog bed steps, and we're not happy with the ones that we found. Many of them were expensive, and many did not seem very substantial. The bed step I made for our dog is very sturdy, and the materials are extremely inexpensive. In fact, you can go to Lowe's or Home Depot, and they will probably cut you the specifications for this dog bed step. All I did then was fasten them together with screws and take an old piece of carpet and staple it to the top of the dog step. It is very sturdy. It only took us about 15 minutes to train Katie to jump up and use the dog bed step instead of trying to jump up on the top of the mattress from the floor. It's been very handy for Katie, and she appreciates it very much.
