Goswami was born in Dehradun, Uttarkhand to a father from Benares (now Varanasi), Uttar Pradesh and a mother from Shillong, Meghalaya.[2] She was educated in Dehradun where she studied at the D.A.V. Public School until class 8. She also studied at Maa Anandmayi Memorial school.
