The Tesla model S is truly a car of the 21st century, so, naturally, the manufacturing process for the vehicle is also on the cutting edge.
Wired had the lucky opportunity to get on the actual factory floor to make this interesting How The Tesla Model S Is Made video.
As oppose to conventional cars, nearly all of the panels are made from blank sheets of steel, formed using gigantic presses. The entire car is built using powerful robot arms that can even change the tools they work with.
There are actually only 3,000 employees on the ground. Welcome to the future.
