A man is now facing legal charges after assaulting a fellow co-worker. According to police, 60-year-old Jose Maria Colindres Salazar struck the 27-year-old fellow race track employee and charged the other man with a pitchfork.

Workplace brawls are not unheard of but some of them can take a really ugly turn

In a recent report, a man in Laurel, Maryland is now facing legal charges after assaulting a fellow co-worker. Both men are employed by the Laurel Park Race Track and work as groomers.

According to police, 60-year-old Jose Maria Colindres Salazar struck the 27-year-old fellow race track employee and charged the other man with a pitchfork.

The co-worker told officers that Salazar punched him during a verbal argument and then came at him with the pitchfork. (1,3,1) He was able to fend off the attack by striking Salazar with an object.

The victim then got away from the alleged aggressor and fled the scene, completely unharmed and untouched. However, Salazar was injured when police arrived at the race track.

He encountered a laceration to his ear and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment before police took him into custody and booked him.

Salazar was charged with first- and second-degree assault in addition to reckless endangerment.
