A lady in Butte, Montana is recovering in the hospital after a birthing event that is said to have the statistical chances of one in a million. She gave birth to identical male triplets.

For a woman, there is no joy like being pregnant and anticipating the arrival of an infant.

A lady in Butte, Montana is recovering in the hospital after a birthing event that is said to have the statistical chances of one in a million.

She gave birth to identical male triplets. The mom, Nikki Whitaker brought all three boys into the world in September – over the course of three days.

Whitaker was due on January 7th, so being that she gave birth several months early, the newborns are still under 2 pounds each. A local doctor in Butte is shocked at the rare event.

He stated “Triplets themselves are probably one in 8,000 or so, but to have identical triplets, the egg would have had to split, then another egg would have had to split again. You won’t find consistent numbers across the board. It happens so infrequently.”

The babies’ health changes from day to day due to their reduced immunity, and all three have experienced challenges since birth. For now Whitaker is taking things slowly and hoping for the best.

She said she can’t wait to bring the triplets home to her husband and older two sons, aged 7 and 8.
