Anne Arundel County firefighters were alerted to a blaze burning in Annapolis during the early morning hours of Monday. Upon arrival, they noticed the conditions were very bad and it was soon declared a 4-alarm fire.
It took the efforts of around 85 firefighters from different jurisdictions to control the flames.
AIG, the insurance company for this property said it was worth $13.9 million according to 'The Capital'.
Neighbors have identified the couple who lived there as Sandra and Donald Pyle. The pair's two children also resided in the 16,000 square foot mansion.
The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
