Remember the Good Old Days, when the KFC Double Down was the absolute nadir of Fast Food Excess? But now, fried chicken instead of buns seems like absolute child’s play! KFC in the Philippines is trying to push the theoretical limit of fast food greasiness with their Double Down Dog.

The concept is simple, but abhorrent: It’s a hot dog, with a horribly misshapen piece of fried chicken in place of a bun. Covered with cheese sauce, because you should make sure to get cholesterol from at least 3 sources at each meal. The picture on the marketing materials was bad enough (actual quote from around the office: “That’s not a real food item, right?”) But the actual product, as photographed by the 25 lucky Filipino KFC customers who “scored’ one of these bad boys is much worse. Almost puts the Double Down Cheseburger released in Korea earlier to shame. But honestly, they’re both a shame.
