Mehsana: In Visnagar town of the district, 25 councillors of Visnagar municipality, 23 of them of BJP, have tendered their resignation as part of their protest against the alleged atrocities by police on citizens during recent violence across the state. Out of these 25 elected representatives, 23 are from ruling BJP while 2 are from Congress who resigned and have demanded stern action against the police officers responsible for violence.
