Last Friday, a break-in occurred at the home of La Jornada columnist Gloria Muñoz Ramirez, well known for her reporting on social movements, just one day after her digital project Desinformemonos was hard hit by a cyber attack. And a week ago, investigative journalist Anabel Hernandez, who has recently reported on the disappeared Ayotzinapa students and the escape of “el Chapo” Guzman, was also the target of a break-in at her home. Over the weekend critical photojournalist Juan Carlos Landa was found dead with signs of torture in Veracruz. In Mexico there is an 89% impunity rate for those who attack journalists.
