NEW YORK — Bruce Jenner revealed her new identity as Caitlyn on Monday, when Vanity Fair tweeted a picture of her on the cover of the July issue. \r

Im so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self, Jenner tweeted from her new Twitter account following the announcement. \r
\r
In an introductory article, Vanity Fair revealed Jenner has had emotional ups and downs throughout her transition. After facial reconstruction surgery in March, the 65-year-old celebrity says she thought: What did I just do? What did I just do to myself?\r
\r
Ultimately though, Jenner told the magazine she did the right thing.\r
\r
If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, You just blew your entire life, Jenner said. \r
\r
Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz snapped the photos that will accompany the article. \r
\r
While celebrities took to Twitter to praise Jenner for her announcement, other Twitter users hastened to point out that spelling her name with a C and not a K might be the best way to distance herself from the Kardashian brand.\r

I hope her daughters change their names to Cylie and Cendall, one Twitter user wrote. \r
\r
CNN reported ESPN will honor Jenner with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at this years ESPY awards in July. Jenner won the Olympic Gold medal for the mens decathlon in 1976. \r

Media-monitoring organization GLAAD responded to Jenners announcement with an encouraging statement. \r
\r
