Ranveer Singh: 'I hope I can make Salman Khan proud with my portrayal of Bajirao'

We all know that Sanjay Leela Bhansali had originally planned to make Bajirao Mastani with Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan years back, but Ranveer Singh ended up bagging the role of Bajirao Peshwa in the film.
Yesterday, at the poster launch of Bajirao Mastani, when asked to comment on this, Ranveer said, ''I know all too well that Salman Khan was supposed to be Bajirao, but I have put in a lot of hard work too and I hope I can make Salman sir proud with my portrayal of the character.''
Ranveer will be seen paired opposite Deepika Padukone in the film, which also stars Priyanka Chopra.
