Pigeon John, nome d'arte di John Kenneth Dunkin (Omaha, ...), è un rapper statunitense.
Pigeon John ha un bel sorriso, ma non è certo un esordiente; attivo dalla prima metà degli anni '90, ha militato in gruppi quali i Brainwash Projects ed LA Symphony & Rootbeer e si è fatto notare soprattutto nelle serate a "microfono aperto" del Good Life Café che fu punto di partenza per parecchi talenti hip hop inclusi i Black Eyed Peas. Nei primi anni del 2000 diede inizio alla sua carriera solista partorendo 7 album tra il 2001 ed il 2007, praticamente un disco all'anno. La sua musica può essere etichettata come alternative hip hop, sicuramente underground ma con un gusto per il soul ed il melodico in cui non manca una dose di humor.
Già utilizzata da Volkswagen in un divertente spot tv in cui Gene Kelly e Donald O'Connor ballano seduti sul sedile posteriore d'una Jetta, "The Bomb" di Pigeon John è una di quelle canzoni che danno allegria, che ti mettono subito il sorriso sulle labbra. A metà tra rock'n'roll, blues e pop, ha un testo pieno di riferimenti alle star del passato (c'è Sinatra, c'è il grido di battaglia di ogni rocker chi rispetti: "one for the money, two for the show"...) ma ha un sound immediato, niente affatto retrò. "The Bomb", come canta Pigeon John nell'inciso, è una bomba pronta ad esplodere e farci ballare fino all'estate 2011!

Pigeon John hails from sunny Southern California, Inglewood to be exact. It's easy to assume his signature blend of wit, charisma and undeniable stage presence is a fortunate gift (and it is), but let's be real. Everyone starts somewhere. Pigeon John cut his teeth in the early 90s at the legendary Good Life Cafe, spitting rhymes on the same stage with then fledgling, now established artists like Freestyle Fellowship, Kurupt, The Pharcyde and Jurassic 5. Good Life open-mic nights became PJ's ritual. It was the perfect environment to hone his performance and delivery skills amongst discerning peers. "The Bomb" is his first single to be released in Italy and had a very good airplay!
