Microsoft HomeGroup allows users on the same home network to easily view, share and even edit files and folders. This video from Tutorial Techie will show you how to establish a HomeGroup within your existing home network and how to share files between computers using HomeGroup.\r

Quick Steps for Sharing Files/Folders Between Two Windows 7 Computers Using Windows HomeGroup \r

• Go to the Start Menu and select your Control Panel\r
• Select Network and Internet and then click on Choose HomeGroup and Sharing Options\r
• Leave any previous HomeGroups if you wish by clicking on Leave the HomeGroup\r
• If you receive an error message that HomeGroup is unavailable, change your network to a Home network (directions below)\r
• Select the things (Documents, Pictures, Videos, Printers, Music) that you would like to share with your HomeGroup\r
• Make note of your HomeGroup password or change it if you wish (directions to change the password are below)\r
• On the subsequent computers, open up your HomeGroup Settings menu as above and close out of the menu to create a new HomeGroup\r
• Once the existing HomeGroup refreshes on your screen, click Join Now\r
• Select the things (Documents, Pictures, Videos, Printers, Music) that you would like to share with your HomeGroup\r
• Enter the HomeGroup password and select Finish\r
• To share a document with your HomeGroup, save it in one of the Libraries that you opted to share\r
• To access a shared document, open your Library and then select either Network or HomeGroup on the left hand side to view all of the computers on your HomeGroup\r
• Then select the computer and user who is sharing the document you would like to access\r
• If youd like to give other computers the ability to both access and modify your documents, open your Library, click on Share With. and then select HomeGroup (Read/Write)\r
