A simple, versatile & delicious cake. \rbrIngredients: \rbr\rbr1 cup (230g) butter\rbr2 cups (400g) caster sugar\rbr3 cups (525g) self raising flour\rbr4 eggs\rbr\rbrMethod:\rbr- Preheat oven to 140 degrees (gas mark 1)\rbr- Grease cake tin\rbr- Cream butter & sugar together using spatula & electric mixer for 5-10 minutes\rbr- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well between each addition\rbr- Fold through sifted flour\rbr- spoon into prepared tin and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes \rbr(cover with foil if cake is getting to brown)\rbr- cool in the tin before turing out\rbr- once cooled cut in half and spread buttercream in middle and replace top of the cake\rbr- then cover with icing sugar glaze or buttercream (completely up to you) \rbr\rbrButtercream:\rbr- mix a half cup of icing sugar with a few tablespoons of butter until combined\rbr- if to thick add a few drops of water, if to thin add more icing sugar\rbr- next add vanilla extr (you can use whatever flavor you want)\rbr- next add your food coloring (optional), a few drops will be enough.
