Uber lost another legal battle in London on Friday. An employment tribunal decided to uphold its decision made last year that Uber drivers must be treated as employees of the company. Being an employee means drivers have workers' rights, including the minimum wage, holiday pay, and paid rest breaks. Uber says drivers prefer the flexibility of being self-employed and that it will appeal the case again, potentially to the Supreme Court. Transport for London previously banned Uber earlier this year over concerns about crime reporting and background checks for drivers. More than 50,000 Uber drivers currently work in the UK.
