Bulls trample men for supposed good luck on the occassion of Ekadashi in Madhya Pradesh.

Tradition once again took centre stage in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, when people were trampled by cows on the occasion of Ekadashi.

This bizarre Hindu traditional ritual have been practice since many centuries on a day after Diwali where scores of people gathered at Bhidawad to got run over by herds of cows decorated with colours and henna in different patterns as a part of ritual to get their wishes fulfilled.

Superstitions prevalent in parts of India, especially in its villages, range from animal sacrifices and raping children as a cure for infertility or dropping babies in rivers to killing.

The self-styled religious ascetics force the poor victim to organise religious rituals to appease the gods or wash away their sins. Some godmans even demand sex with woman as a cure for infertility.
