The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results of Class 10 board examinations on May 29. Anil Swarup, the secretary of school education and literacy with the Union ministry of human resource development, announced the date and time for the result in a tweet on Monday. Four students have topped class 10 CBSE board exams with 499 out of 500 marks. The toppers are Prakhar Mittal from DPS Gurgaon, Rimzhim Agarwal from RK Public school Bijnor, Nandini Garg from Scottish International school Shamli, and Sreelakshmi G from Bhavan Vidyalayas, Cochin. Pass percentage is 86.70. A total of 16,38,420 candidates registered for the Class 10 exam conducted at 4,453 centres across India and 78 centres abroad. Number of students who scored 95% and above in CBSE class 10 results are 27,476. Number of students who have scored 90% and above in the CBSE class 10 results are 1,31,493. This year, 4,510 candidates registered under the differently-abled category. The pass percentage of differently abled students is 92.55%. Toppers in differently-abled category are Anushka Panda from Suncity Gurgaon school with 489 marks, Sanya Gandhi from Uttam School in Ghaziabad with 489 marks and Sonya Deep Pradhan with 484 marks from JNV Dhanpur, Orissa. A total of 11.45% students have been placed in compartment in class 10 board exams. Performance of candidates in foreign schools is 98.32% in class 10 board exams. Girls have done better than boys by 3.35%. Girls have a pass percentage of 88.67% and boys 85.32%. Thiruvananthapuram region has topped with a pass percentage of 99.60%, followed by Chennai (97.37%), and Ajmer (91.86%). Delhi has a pass percentage of 78.62%. JNV schools have performed the best with the pass percentage of 97.31% followed by Kendriya Vidyalayas with 95.96% and private schools are third with 89.49% . While there are 1,10,707 independent candidates, the number of registered candidates from Delhi government and govt-aided schools are 1,55,387. A total of 22,542 candidates registered from the Gulf and 1,339 registered from other countries. Of the 16,38,428 candidates who registered for the exam, 2,89,958 are from Delhi. Panchkula comes next with 2,42,906 registered candidates and is followed by Chennai (1,94,187), Allahabad (1,92,579) and Patna (1,85,825). CBSE declared Class 12 results on May 26.
