Congress will contest all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and it will contest the seats- all alone! Congress president Rahul Gandhi announced this yesterday and today- senior Congress leader, flanked by the AICC members reiterated the same in Lucknow. What came to the fore during today's press conference is the fact that Congress is looking for alliance partners- desperately. The party also invoked Gandhiji and his role for upliftment of the Dalit. Azad's mention of Dalit welfare points towards how Congress is trying to target SP-BSP alliance and how it has negated the Dalit cause. It was yesterday when the SP and the BSP announced a joint seat sharing for 2019. However, the alliance left the 2 Gandhi bastions- Amethi and Rae Bareli to the Congress.
