The net profit of companies listed on Korea's main stock index, the KOSPI,... plunged by almost 40-percent on-year in the first quarter to around 17 billion U.S. dollars.
The frop is mainly due to the country's poor exports amid prolonged U.S.-China trade tensions.
Meanwhille, their sales inched up Point-1-6 percent to just over four hundred billion dollars for the January-March period.
