As the rest of India gears up for Diwali celebration, the light of dawn is yet to break in Kashmir as the valley seethes under unrest.
For over a 100 days, normal life in Kashmir has been paralysed. While curfew has largely been lifted, the unrest continues.
Kashmiri schools have been the target of the latest agitation, with several government schools being reduced to ashes. The agitation has claimed the lives of over 90 civilians and several have been maimed or blinded by metal pellets.
This has been one of the worst periods of violence in Kashmir since the insurgency of the 1990s.
