ਅਸੀਂ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਿੱਤਲੀ ਬਿਠਾਈ ਜਾਣਕੇ।

ਇੱਕ ਸੋਨੇ ਰੰਗਾ ਸੱਧਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਲ੍ਹਣਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ,
ਓਹਨੂੰ ਆਸਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਟਾਹਣੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਟੰਗ ਵੀ ਲਿਆ।
ਓਹਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਮਲੂਕੜੇ ਜਹੇ ਖ਼ਾਬ ਸੁੱਤੇ ਪਏ,
ਅਸੀਂ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਬੀ ਜੇਹਾ ਰੰਗ ਵੀ ਲਿਆ।
ਅੱਜ ਸੁਲ੍ਹਾ-ਸੁਬ੍ਰਾ ਸੰਦਲੀ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ ‘ਚ ਸੁਨੇਹੇ ਦੇ ਕੇ,
ਉੱਡਣੇ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਉਡਾਈ ਜਾਣਕੇ।

ਜਿਹੜਾ ਭੌਰਿਆਂ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਬਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਰਸ ਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ,
ਉਹ ਕੰਵਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਦੇ ਗਏ।
ਮਧੂ-ਮੱਖੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਟੋਲੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਜਜ਼ਬੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ,
ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਛੱਤਿਆਂ ‘ਚੋਂ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਦੇ ਗਏ।
ਅਸੀਂ ਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ,
ਸੁੱਚੇ ਇਸ਼ਕੇ ਦੀ ਚਾਸ਼ਣੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ।

ਮੇਰਾ ਗੀਤ ਜੇਹਾ ਮਾਹੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਅੱਖੀਆਂ ਮਿਲਾਵੇ,
ਓਦੋਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੇ ਨਾਜ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।
ਕਦੀਂ ਲਫ਼ਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੋਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੱਚਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ,
ਕਦੀਂ ਨਜ਼ਮਾਂ ‘ਚ ਬੈਠਾ ‘ਸਰਤਾਜ'ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।
ਏਸੇ ਆਸ ‘ਚ ਕਿ ਆ ਕੇ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਪੁੱਛੇਗਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ,
ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਓਹਨੂੰ ਓਹਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਮ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ।

Maybe while searching shall reach till me;
I have even deliberately hidden a possession;
Maybe he smells the fragrance of love;
I even deliberately perched the butterfly upon the flowers !!

The nectar accumulated from the roses by bees;
They have unfurled it on the leaves of lotuses;
The group of honeybees mesmerised with our passion;
They have gifted the extracted honey from their beehives;
I have entwined nectar and honey in the words;
I have deliberately created sugar syrup of pure love !!

When my song like beloved glances lovingly;
Then that gives me a sense of pride;
Sometimes he turn into a child in the lap of words;
And at another instance, he become Sartaaj amidst the poetry;
Just with the hope that someday he will definitely ask;
That’s why I deliberately narrated his poem on though !!

Made a golden coloured nest woven with desires;
And even hanged it on a branch of hopes;
In those tender dreams have been dozing;
I have also coloured them pink;
Today delivered a message far and wide via alluring winds;
Have deliberately spread the news of flying !!
