Poco lontano dalla città di Catania, ai piedi del grande vulcano Etna e bagnata dal placido mare Jonio, vi è un borgo marinaro chiamato: Acitrezza. Famosi i suoi faraglioni e l'isoletta Lachea appena fuori dal porticciolo, fanno di questo luogo un paesaggio a dir poco meraviglioso. Nella mitologia greca, si narra che, questo luogo, fosse abitato da Polifemo, il ciclope con un occhio sulla fronte che, scagliò a Ulisse e la sua nave di ritorno verso Itaca, grandi macigni di basalto lavico.
