A 280 MPH Hypercar with 1,850 HP Hybrid V12, Limited to 50 Units, New Zenvo Aurora Hypercar 2025

In its top-speed configuration, the Zenvo Aurora is powered by a hybrid four-turbo hybrid V12 that can clock up to 9,800 rpm.

Both are based on Zenvo's brand new ZM1 modular monocoque, which the company says is designed for Formula 1-level structural safety. Offering a stiffness of 63,000 Nm/degrees, the carbon composite part weighs just 265 lbs (120 kg).

The Aurora is the lightest tool Zenvo has ever produced, with a design that exposes about 70 percent of the chassis. Likewise, the engine that forms the basis of both models is also extremely light.

Developed by Mahle Powertrain, the Aurora is powered by an all aluminum mid-mounted V12 that weighs just 575 lbs (260 kg). The 6.6-liter engine is powered by four turbochargers and can go up to 9,800 rpm, making the engine produce 1,250 hp (932 kW/1,267 PS).

It's an impressive number on its own, and the hybrid system only raises the stakes from here. Surprisingly, the track-oriented Agil is actually the less powerful of the two models, and comes with only one electric motor as standard. Working with the engine, the drivetrain delivers 1,450 hp (1,081 kW/1,470 PS) to the rear wheels alone.

In this steer, the electric motor helps propel the Aurora down the line and fill the torque valleys while the turbos are running. Designed to deliver a pure and aggressive driving experience, even the seven-speed transmission has been tuned to feel as mechanical as possible.

Zenvo says it chose to give the Aurora Agil just an electric motor to reduce weight and provide as much unassisted driving experience as possible. To aid track performance, it has an aggressive aerodynamics package that delivers 1,940 lbs (880 kg) of downforce at 250 km/h (155 mph). As a result, it is capable of reaching 62 mph in 2.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 227 mph (365 km/h).

Two additional engines powering the front wheels provide true torque vectoring for impressive cornering performance. In total, the drivetrain delivers a formidable 1,850 hp (1,380 kW/1,876 PS).

The extra power comes with a small weight penalty; this means the Aurora Tur weighs 3,197 lbs (1,450 kg). But it can reach 100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds and reach an impressive top speed of 280 mph (450 km/h). It also offers a little more comfort in the form of leather seats, among other luxuries.

Limited to just 50 examples each, Zenvo says the Aurora will begin production in 2025 at its headquarters in Præstø, Denmark. No public price has been announced at this time.
