Elle Edwards' killer has had his sentence appeal rejected. Last year, Connor Chapman was jailed for life with a minimum term of 48 years for the murder of the 26-year-old. At a hearing in London on Thursday, senior judges rejected Chapman's appeal against the length of his prison sentence.

Bootle Strand will soon look very different as parts of the shopping centre are set to be demolished this spring. Sefton Council purchased the site in 2017 for £32.5m, and the borough laid out plans for a landmark redevelopment. The Strand will remain open to the public while work takes place.

Everton Stadium's barrel clad roof planning has turned a vision into reality in the latest milestone of the project with the first phase now complete on the east stand. The 52,888 stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock is due for completion in late 2024.
