Afton was a late 70s Southern rock group from Danville, Virginia that had quite a following in Southside Virginia for a few years before disbanding and members went their own ways. "First day of summer" was their only album release, the sound was Southern rock more directed towards country with traditional song structures with a rural feel and with catchy harmonies. All the songs are self-penned material.
