The Greek authorities have suspended all deliveries of foreign-bound mail for 48 hours after letter bombs were sent to several embassies in Greece and the leaders of Italy, Germany and France.

In all, Greek officials dealt with nine confirmed bombs - four on Monday and five on Tuesday - including one addressed to Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president, as well as the embassies of Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Chile, Mexico and Russia.

Al Jazeera's Alan Fisher reports on Greece's decision to impose a ban on all international airmail.
