Maritime Ice Fully Engulfed Moncton Fire & Codiac RCMP on scene

A Codiac R.C.M.P. Officer drove up on this Fire at Maritime Ice Plant on Albert Street just after 2:30 A.M. this morning. When Firefighters arrived flames were shooting out of the top floor at the rear of the building. 2 Firefighters at the rear battling the fire ran out of water for a couple of minutes, while other Firefighters set up in the front of the building as thick smoke was blowing towards Riverview. Police had Albert Street blocked at both ends and the Chief set up command just off to the side of the structure. Pouring rain but it didn't seem to help Firefighters with the flames shooting out of the top floor. A 2nd alarm for additional units to respond around 3 A.M. N.B. Power arrived on scene just before 4 A.M. and Public works was needed for barricades to be set up . A Officer discovered a house unlocked across the street from the fire as he was trying to evacuate a house across the street. There was a huge fire next door to this building a few years ago at the door and window factory.
