Simple meaning of the term ‘Thidora’ in Sinhala language is ‘three gates.’ According to Buddhism it is the Mind, the Body and the Word. If a human being is to succeed in this world he or she has to discipline him/her to manage use of these three gates and should have a firm understanding of what is being done. A person who has acquired the required abilities and the understanding will not fail. Failure or breakdown in these communicative abilities and processes will make person’s life problematical. As is stated in Shakespeare’s play ‘As You like it’ all the world is a stage and we all are actors who play roles. Thus, we should have an understanding of the different roles of others and we play in the theatre of life. Even so all human beings must have some form of control over the Mind, the Body and the Word. If we are in control of these elements we can become fully-fledged human beings. <br /><br />
